A Ready-to-Drink Liquid Protein Shooter for Renal Care Patients
Do you remember George and Jane Jetson? These story-bound cartoon characters had two children, a puppy named “Astro” and the relatively out of date robot, “Rosie”. By all accounts, Jane was an admirable wife and mother, however we are led to believe that she in no way worked over a hot stove cooking meals; she merely pushed a button and dinner was complete. Once in a while, we saw her young boy, Elroy, glide into the home and “put away” a whole meal by swallowing a pill no bigger than an average vitamin, before gliding away from home again.
It seems like Elroy’s out-of-this-galaxy method to meals is the right prescription for today’s speedy-paced world. Maybe it’s my passion for outer space, or perhaps it is just my obsession for retro cartoons, but I’ve been eagerly scanning the shelves of the supermarket for any signs of Elroy’s advanced ‘miniaturized breakfast’. If you’re like me, you thoroughly get pleasure from eating, but there are many more occasions than not that I’d have a preference to “slug back” my meal inside a couple of moments so I can keep moving forward with my day…or my night. Some might say that I am experiencing ‘Elroy Envy’. The closest things I’ve found are the protein bullet vials. They’re not exactly as small as a vitamin capsule, and they’re not a three course meal – maybe that is the next evolutionary step — however, they’re actually a movement in the correct direction.
